Accountant- Sustainability & ESG Dept at CapitalSage Technology Limited

• The Sustainability Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the Sustainability & ESG team. This position combines traditional accounting responsibilities with sustainability-focused financial reporting, donor/project compliance, and external stakeholder engagement. The role requires strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to link financial records with sustainability objectives.

Financial Operations & Accounting

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Sustainability team.
• Maintain and reconcile sustainability bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Record, monitor, and justify all sustainability-related expenses.
• Ensure timely processing of payments, invoices, and reimbursements.
• Keep proper documentation and proof of all financial transactions.

Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

• Prepare and support monthly internal sustainability financial reports.
• Coordinate with the sustainability team to align reporting with project deliverables.
• Handle reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal financial policies.
• Support consolidation of sustainability-related financial data for group-level reporting.

Donor & Project Reporting

• Support project budgeting, financial scoping, and cost allocation.
• Prepare financial reports for donors, funders, and external partners.
• Provide financial evidence, justification, and audit-ready documentation.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, grant agreements, and sustainability financing standards.

External Reporting & Compliance

• Maintain proper records for regulatory, donor, and sustainability-related audits.
• Support external sustainability finance reporting in line with ESG disclosure requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and funding partners as needed.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, sustainability finance standards, and reporting obligations.

Record-Keeping & Systems

• Establish and maintain systematic financial record-keeping for sustainability projects.
• Ensure all supporting documentation (invoices, payment proofs, contracts) are organized and retrievable.
• Work closely with finance and sustainability teams to digitize and streamline processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Professional qualification such as ACCA/CPA/ICAN is a plus).
• 2–4 years of relevant accounting or finance experience (experience in donor/project finance is desirable).
• Exposure to sustainability, ESG, or non-profit/donor-funded environments is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to work with sustainability and non-finance colleagues to translate project activities into financial reports.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
