Job Description
Job Overview
- The Business Development Manager will serve as Afrihood’s strategic lead, responsible for driving growth through the development and sale of investment and real estate products, converting leads into long-term clients, overseeing workforce performance, and identifying and transforming land opportunities into marketable real estate offerings.
- This role requires a unique blend of creativity, financial acumen, salesmanship, people management, and on-ground leadership — both behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
Key Responsibilities
Sales, Marketing & Lead Conversion:
- Develop and execute end-to-end sales and marketing strategies to promote Afrihood’s real estate and investment products.
- Generate, nurture, and convert leads into committed buyers and investors.
- Craft compelling pitches and product positioning that communicate clear value to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage the full client acquisition cycle — from outreach and engagement to closing deals and onboarding.
- Represent Afrihood as the face of the brand in public forums, digital platforms, and investor meetings.
- Own the entire marketing function: storytelling, digital content, campaign execution, and engagement metrics.
Product Development & Investment Strategy:
- Develop innovative real estate and financial products aligned with Afrihood’s development goals and investment targets.
- Collaborate with architectural and planning teams to conceptualize market-ready, creative property solutions for acquired lands.
- Leverage real estate trends, customer data, and competitive insights to guide product development and strategy.
- Ensure investment offerings meet regulatory, market, and investor expectations while reinforcing brand credibility.
Land Acquisition & Real Estate Expansion:
- Source and evaluate new land acquisition opportunities for urban and estate developments.
- Negotiate favorable acquisition terms with landowners, agents, and government stakeholders.
- Oversee due diligence and early-stage planning for site development in collaboration with internal teams.
- Ensure all acquired lands are aligned with Afrihood’s commercial, legal, and infrastructural goals.
Leadership & HR Oversight:
- Lead and mentor the Afrihood team, setting performance standards and ensuring accountability across roles.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to build a responsive and skilled team.
- Enforce compliance, professionalism, and deliverables from both internal staff and contract site workers.
- Implement HR structures including employee documentation, discipline frameworks, and labor law compliance.
- Conduct regular team evaluations and site inspections to ensure quality control and performance consistency.
Client Engagement & Investor Relations:
- Build strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and development partners.
- Conduct high-impact investment presentations, webinars, and public forums.
- Serve as a strategic liaison between clients and project delivery teams to ensure execution aligns with expectations.
- Manage ongoing client communication, updates, and after-sales support to maintain long-term relationships.
Content Creation & Media Engagement:
- Create and deliver high-quality digital content that reflects Afrihood’s brand vision, market insight, and success stories.
- Appear on-camera to represent the company in marketing videos, interviews, webinars, and investor briefs.
- Collaborate with media production partners to create compelling campaigns and public-facing content.
- Ensure consistent voice and storytelling across all marketing and communication platforms.
Market Research & Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct regular market analysis to track trends, pricing models, competitor movements, and demand shifts.
- Use market data to shape strategic decisions around product offerings, pricing, and land targeting.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, differentiation, and new customer segments.
Operational Oversight & Performance Management:
- Monitor and enforce KPIs for on-site personnel, vendors, and delivery teams.
- Ensure productivity, professionalism, and timeline compliance on all active development sites.
- Conduct performance audits and reporting for internal accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, HR Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years in business development, real estate, investment sales, or a leadership role in related industries.
- Proven track record in sales, marketing, and closing deals within real estate or infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience in land acquisition, real estate product development, and team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian real estate markets, labor law, and investment strategy.
- Experience with public speaking, media engagement, and digital content creation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Comfortable working independently and leading within a dynamic, high-performance environment.
Personal Attributes:
- Highly strategic and creative thinker with entrepreneurial drive.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and performance management skills.
- Charismatic and confident public speaker, capable of engaging clients on- and off-camera.
- Strong ethical compass and ability to enforce accountability across teams and projects.
