Role Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the company’s client base, and strengthening strategic partnerships. The role requires a commercially astute professional with a deep understanding of logistics services, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to convert opportunities into long-term profitable relationships.

Role responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across local and international markets
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline aligned with organizational growth targets
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive activity
  • Develop and execute business development strategies to increase market share
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals, presentations, and commercial bids
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements within approved limits
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Customer Service teams to ensure service excellence
  • Monitor performance against revenue and growth targets and prepare management reports
  • Represent the company at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or commercial roles
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets
  • Prior experience within the logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain industry is highly desirable
  • Experience handling corporate clients and complex commercial negotiations
