Job Description
Location: KAGA LGA
Job Purpose
The CFS Facilitator handles planning and implementing structured recreational, psychosocial, and educational activities for children in safe spaces, promoting their well-being, protection, and development.
Key Responsibilities
Activity Implementation
- Facilitate age-appropriate recreational and learning activities for children.
- Organize games, storytelling, arts, and structured play sessions.
- Support children’s psychosocial well-being and emotional expression.
Child Protection and Safeguarding
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
- Identify and report child protection concerns.
- Adhere to child safeguarding and PSEA policies.
- Promote positive behavior and non-violent discipline.
Registration and Attendance
- Register children attending the CFS activities.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and participant data.
Community Engagement
- Mobilize children and caregivers to participate in CFS activities.
- Engage with parents and community members to promote child protection awareness.
Referral and Coordination
- Identify children in need of specialized services and refer appropriately.
- Coordinate with caseworkers and protection teams.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain daily records of activities conducted.
- Submit weekly and monthly reports to supervisors.
- Document success stories and challenges.
Facility and Materials Management
- Ensure proper use and care of CFS materials and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the Child Friendly Space
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of OND/NCE or bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Experience working with children in humanitarian or development settings.
- Previous experience in CFS or community-based programsis an advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Effective communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to engage and interact effectively with children of different age groups.
- Basic understanding of child protection principles
- Creativity and enthusiasm in organizing activities.
- Patience, empathy, and teamwork
