Job Description
The College English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English language and literature to undergraduate students. The role involves planning and teaching engaging lessons, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and supporting students’ academic and language development.
The teacher promotes critical thinking, effective communication, and academic integrity while contributing to the overall goals of the institution.
Key duties include preparing lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, delivering lectures and seminars, setting and grading assignments and examinations, and providing constructive feedback to students. The College English Teacher is expected to use effective teaching strategies and educational technology to enhance learning. Participation in academic meetings, curriculum development, and student advising is also required.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Teaching qualification or certification (where required)
- Proven experience teaching English at college or tertiary level
- Strong knowledge of English language, literature, and composition
- Experience in the British Curriculum would be a strong advantage
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate student performance effectively
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems
- Commitment to student development, academic excellence, and professional ethics
- Preferably living in Ejigbo/Ikotun/Jakande axis.
