Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver who is skilled in driving both light and heavy-duty vehicles, including Canter Truck, Iveco Truck, and Chevrolet vehicles.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, safety consciousness, physical fitness and good knowledge of road regulations.
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for vehicle inspections, adhering to traffic laws, maintaining delivery schedules, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and vehicle care.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and operate company vehicles including Canter Truck, Iveco Truck, and Chevrolet
Perform regular safety checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition before and after each trip.
Ensure all vehicle papers are kept in the car and escalate before they are due for renewal.
Ensure that all necessary internal paperwork and documentation are in order before transporting goods and passengers.
Dress neatly and in accordance to company dress code.
Transport staff, goods, and materials to assigned destinations as required safely and on time.
Assist with other logistical or warehouse duties as required.
Assist with loading and offloading of goods when required
Plan and follow the best route to ensure timely delivery of goods and passengers.
Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of vehicles under your care.
Handle customer grievances and other issues professionally and timely.
Report any incidents, faults or accidents to the management immediately following laid down process.
Participate in training and courses to stay abreast of developments in the transport industry.
Maintain cleanliness and proper use of assigned vehicles
Adhere to all traffic laws, road regulations, and company safety procedures at all times.
Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance (log book).

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum of 5 yearsof proven professional driving experience.
Valid Nigerian Driver’s License
Good knowledge of Lagos and interstate routes
Ability to drive long distances when required
Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques.
Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading duties when required
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Must be responsible, punctual, and disciplined.
