- Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to handle various accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial statements, and overseeing payroll processes.
- This role holder will require a thorough understanding of Nigerian financial regulations and accounting principles, as well as experience in budget preparation, cash flow monitoring, and compliance with tax laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and expense tracking.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, forecast, ad performance reports to management.
- Handle payroll processing, including salary computation, deductions, pension, and benefit administration, ensuring compliance and timelines.
- Monitor and manage cashflows, maintain accurate financial records, and oversee petty cash operations.
- Ensure fill compliance with tax regulations, prepare and file statutory returns, and liaise with authorities and auditors.
- Conduct periodic internal audit, review control processes, and recommend corrective actions to strengthen financial governance.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance management reports showing sales performance, revenue growth, expense ratios and portfolio profitability.
- Work closely with the management team to analyze resource utilization, assess financial efficiency, and provide insights that support operational and strategic decisions.
- Develop and track key financial KPIs to measure business performance and ensure fiscal discipline.
- Collaborate with Credit, Operations, and Sales teams to align financial reporting with overall business performance.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and professional ethics in all financial dealings.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- ICAN/ACCA certification (preferred).
- 2–4 years’ accounting experience, preferably in SMEs/startups.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial principles and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
