Job Description

THE POSITION:

  • We are seeking a dynamic Finance Officer who will be responsible for managing financial processes and ensuring the efficient flow of financial information within the company. The role requires maintaining financial records, supporting budget preparation, monitoring financial performance, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing financial reports to senior management. This position will be critical in driving financial planning, analysis, and decision-making to support the company's manufacturing operations and business objectives

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor manufacturing costs and expenses, identifying areas for cost reduction or process improvement.
  • Analyze variances between actual performance and budgeted targets, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Oversee the allocation of overheads and fixed costs within the production process.
  • Ensure the company maintains sufficient cash flow to meet operational requirements, including vendor payments, salaries, and other liabilities.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure prompt and accurate collection and payment.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations, including preparation of tax returns and management of audits.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure the company’s financial records are accurate and compliant.
  • Oversee inventory valuations and ensure accurate financial reporting of manufacturing assets.
  • Continuously review financial and accounting processes to ensure they are effective and efficient.
  • Propose improvements to the existing financial management systems to reduce costs, enhance productivity, and increase profitability.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to improve financial performance and cost efficiency in the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the company’s annual budget.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • A professional certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a finance-related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, manufacturing processes, and financial reporting.
