Job Description
The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for recruitment, creation and upkeep of employee records, employee relations, performance management, and compliance with employment laws. Sh/e serves as a critical bridge between the management and employees of the client. Sh/e implements all HR policies, programs and systems to support the successful management of the client’s employees. Sh/e aligns the HR team with the goals and objectives of the client, creates and sustains a productive culture and atmosphere of harmony of the client.
- Develop and implement global-best HR policies and procedures to manage the employees of the client.
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding of all the client’s employees.
- Build and ensure update all the client’s personnel records including personnel files.
- Manage employee relations including conduct and discipline matters. Resolve conflicts and support performance management.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Plan, coordinate and implement the performance management process.
- Develop and deploy competencies that promote continuous improvement of HR services, processes, systems and practices.
- Undertake salary reviews including cost of living adjustments (COLA) and merit increases.
- Manage employee exit programs including resignations, terminations, redundancy, and dismissals.
- Liaise with department heads to identify staffing needs; fill up all open positions.
- Ensure timely and professional internal HR communications at all times.
- Liaise with department heads to identify training needs. Design, implement and monitor all training programs.
- Implement all leave management and attendance records.
- Prepare and present HR reports and documentation as required by management.
- Manage employee welfare benefits including life and health insurance, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least 8 years’ experience in HR management or similar role.
- CIPM, SHRM or CIPD certification is required.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws, HR best practices, compliance and procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency with HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
