About the Role

We are looking for an experienced

IM/DC Coordinator for a Tier 1 Oil & Gas servicing Company in Nigeria 
to restore and strengthen the organization’s information management and document control framework. This role will oversee the management of corporate records, project documents, and information systems to ensure compliance, accessibility, and alignment with governance standards. The IM/DC Coordinator will act as the central point of contact between business units, IT, and quality teams for all matters relating to records and document control.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate all information management (IM) and document control (DC) activities across HQ and business units.
  2. Develop and enforce document control and records management policies, retention schedules, and compliance frameworks.
  3. Supervise the receipt, registration, distribution, tracking, and archiving of controlled documents.
  4. Manage both physical and electronic document control systems to ensure accessibility and version control.
  5. Liaise with project teams to ensure timely submission and approval of documents.
  6. Train and support employees on information management and document control processes.
  7. Conduct audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to governance and quality standards.
  8. Collaborate with IT to optimize digital document management systems (SharePoint, Aconex, M-Files, or similar).
  9. Provide regular reports to management on IM/DC performance, risks, and improvements.
  10. Act as the escalation point for document and records-related issues.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Library Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. 3–6 years’ experience in records management, document control, or information governance.
  3. Strong knowledge of IM/DC standards and best practices (ISO 15489, ISO 9001, ARMA principles).
  4. Experience with document management software (SharePoint, OpenText, M-Files, or Aconex).
  5. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  6. Ability to train and mentor staff on IM/DC systems and compliance.
  7. Certifications in
    Records Management, Document Control, or Information Governance
    are an advantage.
  8. Experience in oil & gas, energy, or large-scale project environments is highly preferred.
