Job Description
About the Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to join our dynamic team. This role is central to safeguarding the hospital’s financial integrity, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and enhancing operational efficiency. You will be responsible for assessing risks, evaluating internal controls, and providing actionable recommendations that support sound governance and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular audits of financial transactions, records, and operational processes.
- Review internal control systems, identify weaknesses, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, healthcare regulations, and professional standards.
- Audit critical areas such as revenue cycles, billing, procurement, payroll, and asset management.
- Investigate irregularities or suspected fraud, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Present audit findings to management and the Audit Committee with clear, actionable insights.
- Follow up on implementation of audit recommendations.
- Provide advisory support to improve operational efficiency while maintaining compliance.
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
- Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA) preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ audit experience, preferably in healthcare or a similar sector.
- Strong understanding of hospital financial systems and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in accounting software, MS Excel, and audit tools.
- Exceptional analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills.
- High level of integrity, objectivity, and attention to detail.
