Job Description
The IT Support Officer is the first line of IT support for UUL United Logistics. Positioned within Human Resources and reporting to the HRD, the role is responsible for employee ID badge production, staff mailbox applications and account permission setup, day-to-day operation of the office network, CCTV system and connected terminal equipment, hardware and software troubleshooting for employees, and routine execution and monitoring of information-security controls. The role works to define standards and documented procedures, uses Python to automate repetitive administrative IT tasks, and escalates promptly to Group IT for second-line technical support and to the HRD for decisions on policy, purchase and change.
- Produce and manage employee ID badges.
- Handle mailbox applications, configuration, and permissions.
- Maintain accurate account and permission registers.
- Operate and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and printers.
- Monitor and maintain CCTV systems, ensuring coverage and storage integrity.
- Liaise with ISPs and vendors for faults and repairs.
- Maintain IT asset register and consumables stock.
- Provide first-line support for hardware, OS, office software, and printing.
- Install, configure, and update systems and applications.
- Perform basic hardware diagnosis and repairs.
- Create simple how-to guides for recurring issues.
- Develop scripts to automate repetitive IT/HR tasks (e.g., badge generation, asset reporting, ticket statistics).
- Document scripts and lodge with HRD.
- Identify further automation opportunities.
- Ensure endpoint protection and patch management.
- Monitor access rights, permissions, and unauthorized software/devices.
- Perform scheduled backups and verify restorations.
- Report and log security incidents promptly.
- Deliver staff security-awareness briefings.
- B.Sc. or HND in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experiencein IT Support role in an office environment is highly preferred. Exposure to CCTV or network equipment maintenance is an advantage.
