- The People & Culture Department of Lily Hospitals Ltd is seeking applications from prospective employees for the post of Lead Nurse - Executive Unit
- The Lead Nurse in critical care is responsible for providing intensive care to patients who are critically ill or injured.
- These patients require continuous monitoring and treatment in a highly specialized setting, while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care
Responsibilities
Clinical & Medical Care:
- Deliver and oversee high-quality patient care, including admission assessments, care planning, emergency procedures, and the use of medical devices and life-support systems.
- Ensure compliance with patient safety, privacy, and nursing standards, while guiding staff nurses in executing care plans using approved nursing processes.
Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff to ensure consistent, quality care.
- Assign duties, manage schedules and rotations, conduct performance evaluations, and set SMART KPIs.
- Recruit, orient, train, and develop nursing staff, fostering continuous professional growth.
Administrative & Operational Management:
- Ensure adequate stock levels, functional equipment, and well-maintained wards.
- Oversee daily equipment checks and ensure smooth unit operations aligned with hospital objectives and protocols.
Patient & Family Support:
- Prepare patients for consultations, procedures, and surgeries; administer medications as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians on treatment plans, explain procedures and results, and provide emotional support to patients and families.
Quality, Safety & Compliance:
- Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards, including ISO, COHSASA, Kaizen, and Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR 2019).
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid practising license from NMCN.
- Bachelor's degree (B.NSc) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three to five years of clinical experience
- Must possess a BLS and ACLS training certificate
- Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act
- Strong proficiency in simulation-based learning, clinical assessments, and student mentorship.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Package.
