Role Description
- This is a full-time, on-site role located in Abuja for a Legal/Company Secretary.
- The Legal/Company Secretary will be responsible for providing legal advisory services, ensuring regulatory compliance, assisting in corporate governance, and documenting company decisions.
- The role includes drafting and reviewing legal documents, maintaining statutory records, and liaising with regulatory authorities. Additionally, the secretary will coordinate board meetings, prepare minutes, and offer guidance on legal and statutory requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong legal knowledge, including corporate and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing documents such as contracts, agreements, and other legal paperwork
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain statutory records accurately
- Ability to coordinate meetings, prepare minutes, and ensure adherence to corporate governance standards
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience liaising with regulatory authorities and understanding legal processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and qualification to practice law
- Familiarity with financial and microfinance sectors is a strong advantage
