Job Description
MOWAA is seeking an experienced
Mechanical Supervisor
to oversee the design, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical systems in our state-of-the-art museum facility. This role ensures that critical systems—including HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and other mechanical infrastructure
—operate efficiently to preserve our collections, provide visitor comfort, and maintain the safety of the building.
The Mechanical Supervisor will manage maintenance programs, supervise projects, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors to ensure seamless facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Planning:Review and develop mechanical system designs, technical specifications, schematics, and drawings for installations and retrofits.
- Maintenance Oversight:Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs for systems such asHVAC, chillers, FCUs, AHUs, pumps, plumbing, and humidity control equipment.
- Project Management:Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical projects; ensure compliance with design and safety codes.
- Energy & Sustainability:Monitor mechanical system performance, analyze energy consumption, and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Compliance & Safety:Enforce adherence to HSE standards, building codes, and conservation requirements critical to artifact preservation.
- Technical Support:Provide climate-control support for exhibitions and respond promptly to mechanical emergencies.
- Reporting & Documentation:Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance logs, and compliance certifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.Eng/BSc in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimun 7years of experience in mechanical design, operations, and maintenance, ideally within museums, galleries, or critical facilities.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and building mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit, HVAC load calculation tools, and energy modeling software.
- Familiarity with BMS and CMMS systems.
- COREN or equivalent professional registration; HSE certification preferred.
- Leadership, project management, problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities.
