Description

The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of Agbeyewa Farms.
This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
The Operations Specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure smooth operational flow, optimize resource utilization, and contribute to the overall success of the farm.

Job Description

Assist in the planning and execution of daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and processing.
Monitor and track operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
Coordinate with farm supervisors and field officers to ensure efficient resource allocation and task execution.
Support the implementation of operational procedures and best practices.
Assist in the management of farm inputs, including seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Coordinate logistics for the transport of harvested cassava and other farm products.
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely procurement of supplies.
Collect and analyze operational data, preparing reports on key performance indicators.
Maintain accurate records of farm activities, including production data, resource usage, and maintenance logs.
Utilize data to identify trends and inform operational decisions.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery.
Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure timely repairs and preventative maintenance.
Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repairs.
Implement and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Assist in the documentation of operational procedures and compliance records.
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in farm operations, logistics, or a related field.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of agricultural practices and farm equipment is a plus.
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and learn new techniques.
