Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced nurse to provide comprehensive in-home medical and personal care for an elderly patient. The ideal candidate will ensure the patient’s comfort, safety, and well-being through skilled nursing care, mobility assistance, medication administration, and day-to-day support.
Location:
Eku, Delta State
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home medical careand administer prescribed treatments under medical supervision.
- Offer mobility assistance, including support with walking, transfers, and use of assistive devices.
- Administer medicationaccording to prescription schedules and document all dosages.
- Perform regular medical monitoring(e.g., vital signs, glucose levels) and update online health records or care reports as required.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene in a respectful manner.
- Support with feeding, ensuring dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines are followed.
- Escort and assist with bathroom useas needed, maintaining dignity and hygiene.
- Accompany the patientto doctor appointments, hospital visits, and emergencies, ensuring safe and timely transportation.
- Make periodic trips to the pharmacyto collect prescription medications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment for the patient.
- Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and supervisors regarding patient status and needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN)orLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)certification required.
- 5 years of experience in geriatric, home health, or long-term care nursing.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Compassionate demeanor with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Valid driver’s license and National identity card (NIN).
Working Hours & Conditions:
- 12-hour shifts
- May include weekends, evenings, or overnight shifts based on patient needs.
- Should be available for emergency call outs.
- Travel required for medical appointments and pharmacy runs.
Compensation:
N150,000 - N200,000 monthly + yearly bonus
