Job Description
Overview:
The Program Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the design, execution, and oversight of Health Emergency Initiative’s (HEI) health-focused programs and interventions. This position involves program planning, stakeholder engagement, donor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to drive impactful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Strategy & Execution
- Support the design and implementation of program strategies and activity plans.
- Assist in defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient program delivery.
Donor & Stakeholder Engagement
- Identify and engage potential donors and partners.
- Support proposal development, grant writing, and relationship management with funders and collaborators.
- Ensure timely updates and reporting to stakeholders.
Monitoring & Evaluation Support
- Assist in the development and application of tools to track program performance.
- Contribute to data gathering, analysis, and reporting to inform program improvements.
Project & Event Management
- Oversee planning and coordination of fundraising events, outreach programs, and emergency response activities.
- Support budget preparation, procurement planning, and activity reporting.
- Identify risks and contribute to mitigation strategies during project implementation.
Team Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise program and administrative support staff.
- Collaborate with internal leadership to ensure smooth execution of organizational meetings (AGM, BOT, EXCO) and key events.
Communication & Documentation
- Draft project proposals, concept notes, and reports.
- Represent HEI at partner meetings and external engagements.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, advocacy, and organizational visibility efforts.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Development Studies, Biological Sciences, Pure and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences or a related field.
- 3–4 years’ experience in a program or project coordination role within the non-profit or health sector.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office/ICT; knowledge of M&E tools is a plus.
