Job Summary

An Advanced Security Adviser in a Nigerian oil and gas company develops and implements security strategies to protect personnel, assets, and operations from threats like theft, sabotage, and militancy.
Key responsibilities include risk assessment, intelligence analysis, security contractor management, and liaison with government security agencies (JTF) to ensure safe operations.

Job Description

Strategic Security Management: Formulate, implement, and monitor comprehensive security policies, protocols, and emergency response plans across all oil and gas operational sites (onshore/offshore).
Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct in-depth security risk assessments for assets, personnel, and new project sites; develop mitigation strategies, including security audits and vulnerability studies.
Intelligence Analysis: Analyze security trends, incidents, and threat intelligence in the Nigerian Niger Delta and surrounding areas to provide actionable advice to management.
Government/Community Liaison: Act as the primary liaison with Nigerian security forces (JTF, Police, NSCDC) to facilitate security support, while maintaining positive relationships with host communities to prevent disruptions.
Contractor/Guard Force Management: Supervise third-party security providers, ensuring compliance with international standards (e.g., Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights) and company policies.
Incident Management: Lead the response to security incidents, managing crisis situations, conducting investigations, and preparing detailed security reports.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Social Sciences, or related field.
Experience: 10-15 years in corporate security within the oil and gas sector, with significant experience in high-risk environments.
Skills: Exceptional crisis management, intelligence analysis, interpersonal skills, and proficiency in security technologies.
Background: Experience working with security agencies or armed forces is a significant advantage.
