Job Description

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and disciplined Truck Driver Trainer to join our logistics team.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of truck operations, driver behavior, and road safety standards, with the ability to train, mentor, and evaluate drivers for optimum performance and compliance.

Responsibilities

Conduct theoretical and practical training sessions for truck drivers on safe driving techniques, vehicle handling, and company operational procedures.
Assess drivers’ skills through on-road tests and recommend areas for improvement.
Enforce adherence to company safety policies, traffic laws, and preventive maintenance practices.
Develop and implement driver training manuals and refresher courses.
Work closely with the Fleet and HR departments to ensure continuous driver development and discipline.
Prepare training reports, performance evaluations, and recommendations for management review.

Requirements

Minimum of 20 years’ experience as a professional truck driver or driver trainer in a logistics or haulage company.
Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and Nigerian road regulations.
Valid Class G driver’s license and clean driving record.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to coach, discipline, and motivate drivers effectively.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
